When the first-gen Emonda SLR appeared, jaws dropped everywhere. It was light. Like, science-fiction light.
Trek has somehow managed to make a lighter version of the Emonda's SLR frame, but can run disc brakes.
Let that soak in for a second. The disc-brake-ready version of the Emonda SLR frame weighs in at an absurd 665 grams for a 56cm frame (H1 fit). The disc brake fork is also an all-carbon unit, and weighs only 350 grams. That's actually lighter than the previous-gen caliper-brake version. How did the mad scentists at Trek in Waterloo do it?! They started with a revamped version of their in-house 700 Series OCLV carbon fiber material. The qualities of this year's 700 Series OCLV carbon is different due to changes in raw material, layup schedule and resin formulation. With the aid of in-house digital prototyping, the Emonda SLR's frame design also went through refinements from stem to stern. The hourglass-shaped top tube and stouter chainstays are the more obvious clues to the new Emonda SLR's changes, while 12mm thru-axles add torsional anchor points for better power delivery and handling. The tapered head tube and BB90 bottom bracket are still there, but they function better with the improved frame architecture and material "recipe". Aerodynamics didn't enter into the equation; only lightness and ride quality mattered when the Emonda SLR Disc was under development. Internal cable routing keeps the Emonda SLR Disc looking sleek, while an aperture in the left chainstay for a DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor (sold separately) eliminates the need for clumsy zip-ties. The ride quality was improved with the new 700 Series OCLV, giving the Emonda SLR a smoother feel over rough pavement.
Equipping the Emonda SLR with Shimano's excellent 11-speed Ultegra R8000 components was an easy choice. Known for light weight, precise functionality, and overall durability, Ultegra components just work well for racers and recreational riders alike. The dual-control STI levers require less effort to shift than the previous generation, and still boast an adjustable lever reach for smaller hands. The tucked-in Shadow-style rear derailleur can handle much larger cassettes while shifting better under hard pedaling loads. The front derailleur's toggle-pivot design also requires less effort to operate. An alloy Ultegra 50/34T crankset and 11-32T Ultegra cassette bring a wide gearing range to every challenging ride. Hydraulic disc brakes aren't just for riding in the rain; better lever feedback and improved stopping power makes for safer braking in any conditions, wet or dry.
High performance can be found in the Emonda SLR's rolling stock as well. Bontrager's alloy Paradigm Comp wheels are disc-specific, and are tubeless-ready. They're shod with Bontrager's R3 Hard-Case Lite tires. Bontrager also supplies the saddle, accessory-ready alloy Blendr stem and alloy road handlebar.
Some of our in-stock examples will have a more aggressive H1 fit featuring a shorter head tube length, rather than the more upright H2 fit.

The Emonda SLR is one of Trek's flagship machines. Just pick it up, and you'll know...
Using absurdly, stupifyingly light 700 Series OCLV carbon fiber is just a small part of why the Emonda SLR is such an incredible bike. The frame engineers at Trek knew that the right combination of different qualities of carbon fiber can make a bike perform effortlessly. Immense torsional strength is needed to help with power transfer and precise handling. Measurable frame compliance can take the edge off rough pavement and keep the rider fresher for longer, making the difference in a final sprint to the finish line. Several different qualities of carbon fiber are used to produce these seemingly conflicting performance characteristics. When Trek uses their Optimum Compaction, Low Void (or OCLV) manufacturing process, they reduce the need for excess resin in the frame, keeping overall weight low and improving quality control.
They could use garden-variety frame elements seen on bikes around the world, but Trek knew they could make a bike better. A Ride Tuned no-cut seatmast and cap still allows for plenty of saddle adjustment, but the seatmast itself adds an extra dash of smoothness to the ride quality. It also cuts more weight off the Emonda SLR's frame, especially at the top of the bike where it counts more for out-of-the-saddle sprints and uphill efforts. A press-fit BB90 bottom bracket anchors the crankset while still keeping overall weight low. Adding a tapered head tube allowed the engineers to build an oversized down tube that enhances the frame's torsional strength while still keeping weight down. Direct-mount brake caliper installation improves frame strength as well as reducing weight. An aperture in the left chainstay is meant for a Bontrager DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor, eliminating the need for clumsy zip-ties. Internal cable routing keeps the Emonda SLR looking clean and sleek, too. The more upright H2 fit of this Emonda SLR allows a wider range of riders -and rider flexibilities- to get comfortable.
Shimano's 11-speed Ultegra R8000 components are found throughout this Emonda SLR, including the dual-control levers, derailleurs, 50/34T compact crankset and direct-mount rim brakes. An 11-32T Shimano cassette offers a wide gearing range to help on fearsome inclines. Long life, precise operation and lightning-quick shifting are the hallmarks of Shimano's performance-oriented Ultegra component group. Bontrager's tubeless-ready alloy Paradigm Comp wheelset and 700x28c R3 Hard-Case Lite tires add easy acceleration and a smooth feel. Alloy Bontrager handlebars and accessory-ready stem keep the cockpit light and comfortable.

Trek's FX 2 is more than just "basic transportation" for the pedal-powered commuter. It excels at fitness rides, exploring new trails and rides for the fun of it!
An Alpha Silver aluminum frame is the backbone of the FX 2, giving it light weight and a nimble feel. If you're considering bottle cages, racks and fenders, the FX 2 has mounts for those, too! Internal cable routing keeps the FX 2 Disc looking clean and sleek. Shimano's 9-speed Altus RapidFire shifters operate Shimano derailleurs for fingertip operation. An alloy 46/30T crankset and 11-36T rear cassette offers an extra-wide gearing range for steep inclines and heavy loads. Lightweight 700c alloy Bontrager wheels and 35mm Bontrager H2 Comp tires make every mile smoother. Hydraulic disc brakes by Tektro aren't just for safe stops in a downpour. They're better in all conditions, rain or shine! A comfy Bontrager Sport saddle, alloy seatpost and upright alloy handlebar make for a well-fitting cockpit. The alloy Blendr stem allows the use of stem-mounted lights, a handlebar computer and even your smartphone (sold separately). There's even an aperture for a Bluetooth speed and cadence sensor (sold separately) in the left chainstay. How cool is that?

The FX Sport 4 is what happens when you let the designers and engineers out of their cubicles. You can tell just by looking at it. That sleek carbon fiber frame and carbon fiber fork says "I'm ready for adventure". Trek's exclusive 400 Series OCLV carbon fiber frame has been shaped for light weight and high performance. A tapered steerer tube and carbon fiber fork add handling precision to every corner and bend. The overall fit of the FX Sport 4 is more upright, allowing a wider range of riders -and rider flexibilities- to get comfortable. Internal cable routing and an aperture in the left chainstay for a DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor (sold separately) helps keep those sleek lines wherever you look. Rack and fender mounts let you accessorize The FX Sport 4 to your heart's content. Mounts under the top tube are meant for a frame bag (sold separately) without the need for velcro straps. Even the alloy Bontrager stem comes with a convenient light or computer Blendr mount.
Trek didn't ignore the FX Sport 4's drivetrain, making it perform as well as a the bike's high-tech frameset. Shimano's 10-speed Deore shift levers feel precise and lightning-fast under your fingertips, while a clutch-equipped Shimano Deore derailleur adds long service life and smooth operation. A 42T alloy crankset and 11-46T Shimano Deore cassette boast a huge gearing range for tackling steep inclines and speedy descents. Helping to keep speed under control is the job of a set of hydraulic disc brakes. The stopping power and lever feedback ensures safer stopping in all conditions, wet or dry. The FX Sport 4 needed well-thought rolling stock to make every ride enjoyable, even on unpaved paths and trails. Bontrager supplies the 32-spoke tubeless-ready Paradigm alloy wheels and lightly treaded 700x40c Bontrager GR1 Expert tires for easy acceleration and a smooth feel, even on gravel. Bontrager's H1 saddle sits atop an alloy Bontrager seatpost, delivering a comfortable perch on day-long rides. A Satellite Plus IsoZone handlebar and long-tail handgrips takes the edge off vibration from the road (or gravel). The FX Sport 4 makes every mile more fun!

Spring, summer, winter or fall, the physics remain the same: A lighter bike does everything wth less effort.
The Farley 9.6 is built around a superlight OCLV Mountain carbon fiber frame and OCLV carbon fiber Haru fork, making every alloy frame feel heavy and clumsy underneath you. The frameset is not only light, but also tremendously strong for razor-sharp handling and power delivery. Adjustable Stranglehold thru-axle rear dropouts let you alter the wheelbase up to 15mm to dial in handling in a wide range of trail conditions. A tapered head tube/steerer tube all but eliminates front-end flex, improving handling prowess further. Thru-axle fork dropouts add an extra dash of handling precision. The Farley 9.6 features a polymer Carbon Armor downtube shield to ward off rock strikes. Internal routing for a remote dropper post and external routing for hydraulic brake lines make servicing the Farley 9.6 simple. Bottle mounts aren't forgotten. We recommend hot cider in your water bottle.
A fatbike relies on enormous tires to gain control on snow, ice, slush, dirt and mud. The wider the tires, the better the grip. The previous generation of fatbikes used 26" wheels, proving a very large ground contact patch when combined with 3.8" tires. The Farley 9.6, however, uses 27.5" wheels, and 4.5" wide Barbegazi Team Issue tubeless-ready tires. This gives the Farley 9.6 even more grip for riding in slippery, snowy and messy conditions. Converting to tubeless eliminates over 2 pounds (!!) of rotating mass out of the wheels, making the Farley 9.6 even quicker off the start line and out of tight corners. Alloy SUNringlé Mulefüt 80 SL wheels are laced to Bontrager alloy hubs with stout 15mm thru-axle skewers. The rear hub's 108T RapidDrive freehub almost completely removes "free play"; the delay between pushing down on the pedals and actually getting power into the rear wheel. A pretty useful feature when traversing technical terrain or icy rock gardens.
SRAM produces the Farley 9.6's single-ring drivetrain, reducing mechanical complexity and weight. SRAM's 12-speed GX Eagle rear shifter, GX Eagle rear derailleur, 30T GX Eagle crankset, 11-50T Eagle cassette and GX Eagle chain all function seamlessly for lightning-quick operation and long service life. SRAM also supplies the Level TL hydraulic disc brakes that use DOT fluid for especially cold conditions. A Bontrage Arvada saddle sits atop an alloy seatpost, while an accessory-ready alloy Bontrager Elite Blendr stem, alloy Rhythm Comp handlebar and ESI Chunky grips complete the cockpit.

This bicycle was produced by hand in Waterloo, WI, using the same molds and techniques as the Madone 6.9 SSL of the same year. The bicycle uses Trek's proprietary OCLV 110 carbon fiber material for very light weight and impressive torsional strength. An aggressive geometry provides nimble handling and lightning-fast pedaling response, especially during uphill, out-of-the-saddle efforts. Up front, a 1-1/8" Cane Creek external-cup headset holds the lightweight Bontrager Race X Lite OCLV 110 carbon fiber fork. The Madone's cables are all externally routed, allowing easy servicing in the field.
The Livestrong Madone bicycles feature real gold leaf panels on the top tube, down tube and seat tube. Lance Armstrong's signature appears across the top tube under the clearcoat. Yellow highlights and custom graphics adorn the bike and many of the components.
Shimano's 10-speed 7800 Dura Ace components are found throughout the bike, including the dual-control levers, both derailleurs, both multi-pivot brake calipers, and the 12-25T cassette. Long service life and precise operation can be expected for years to come from Shimano's best pro-level components. A Bontrager crankset with carbon fiber arms, 53/39T chainrings and matching custom graphics is an impressive centerpiece to the Livestrong Madone. Bontrager Race X Lite alloy wheels also feature custom yellow spokes and carbon fiber hubs, and are wrapped with 700x23mm Bontrager tires. A Bontrager carbon fiber seatpost, Bontrager saddle, Race XXX Lite carbon fiber stem and OCLV carbon fiber handlebar also boast custom yellow graphics.
