Disc brakes aren't the only thing going for the Verve 2 Disc. The frame of the bike is built with Trek's own Alpha Gold aluminum, keeping weight low and soaking up fatiguing vibration. The alloy stem is also also adjustable, allowing a wider range of riders -and rider flexibilities- to get comfortable. Four sizes make for easy fitting, too. Shimano provides the 8-speed shifters and derailleurs, making every gear change swift and precise. An alloy 48/38/28T triple crankset and Shimano 11-32T cassette boasts a huge gearing range for steep hills and heavy loads. The Verve 2 Disc is fitted with alloy Bontrager Connection wheels, bringing easy acceleration and light weight. 700x45c Bontrager H5 semi-treaded tires soak up crumbling trails and gravel surfaces with aplomb. A comfy Bontrager Boulevard saddle and adjustable suspension seatpost make potholes almost unnoticeable.
