Better bikes make every ride -every mile- more enjoyable! Trek does this with the latest version of the FX 2 now featuring hydraulic disc brakes.

The FX 2 has been a long-running success for us at Machinery Row. Everyone likes the light weight, great handling, long service life and overall versatility of this fan favorite. Trek didn't mess with a good thing for 2020. They kept the lightweight frame, excellent fit and posture, user-friendly features and durability. They added something that has been trickling down from mountain bikes for awhile: Flat-mount disc brakes!

By building the FX 2 Disc around a strong, light Alpha Gold aluminum frame, Trek kept the FX 2 Disc a nimble machine for urban errands, fitness rides, bike path adventures and whatever else crosses your mind. Internal cable routing keeps the FX 2 Disc looking clean and sleek. Mounts for fenders, racks and water bottle cages opens up all sorts of possibilities! For the fitness rider wanting to keep track of ride details, there's an aperture in the left chainstay for an ANT+/Bluetooth DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor (sold separately) that can connect with your smartphone or handlebar computer. Need a place for your Bontrager headlight or RideTime computer? The alloy Bontrager Blendr stem boasts a front-and-center mount for exactly those items! The overall fit of the FX 2 Disc offers a more upright posture, and a cushy Bontrager sport saddle and long-tail Satellite grips make for comfortable touchpoints.

Shimano provides the 8-speed shifters, Acera rear derailleur and Tourney front derailleur, giving the FX 2 Disc precise shifting and long service life. An alloy 48/38/28T crankset and 11-32T Shimano cassette adds a massive gearing range to the FX 2 Disc for steep climbs and long rides. 32-spoke alloy Bontrager Connection wheels are shod with 700x35c Bontrager H2 semi-treaded tires for easy speed and assuring grip. Those aforementioned Tektro disc brakes are hydraulic and add plenty of stopping power in wet or dry conditions. Commute confidently!
