Looking for a tandem that is more than just fun on two wheels? The Carrera is a fast machine for two. Fast training sessions with the local club, hilly centuries and "challenge rides" are all part of the Carrera's repertoire. With precise handling, a smooth ride quality and impressively low weight, the Carrera checks all the boxes for tandem riders that wants to cover ground fast. Or, at least, with energy to spare by ride's end. The heart of the Carrera is a handmade frame built from Reynolds 631 chromoly steel tubing made exclusively for Co-Motion. An oversized head tube adds an extra dash of handling, while a carbon fiber Co-Motion T390 fork soaks up fatiguing vibration as well as subtracting weight. Rack and fender mounts add a versatile side to the Carrera's performance-oriented nature. Shimano's 11-speed Ultegra components make up the drivetrain, including the derailleurs and dual-control levers. An alloy Co-Motion 50/34T crankset and 11-34T Shimano cassette bring a useful gearing range to the Carrera, helping to make short work of fearsome climbs. Instead of a chain, the Carrera uses a Gates timing belt that never needs lubrication and boasts a very long service life. Cable-operated TRP Spyre disc brakes with massive 203mm rotors add confident stopping power, even while loaded down. The Carrera's rolling stock consists of Rolf's Prima Tandem wheelset. High-flange hubs, bladed spokes and a deep rim profile add performance with every mile. Continental's Gatorskin tires add a smooth feel and peace of mind with renowned puncture resistance. Selle Italia supplies the Nekkar captain's saddle and the Lady Flow stoker's saddle. An alloy FSA handlebar and stem up front is complimented with an adjustable stem and alloy Co-Motion stoker bar out back. Color: Green/Black Size: Medium The Primera from Co-Motion is a classic road tandem, offering a comfortable ride, stable handling and excellent performance. Our in-stock example features S&S couplers that allow the tandem to be disassembled for easy packing and transport. Handbuilt in Eugene, Oregon, the Primera is ready for long tours, short club rides and everything in between. Built with tandem-specific butted chromoly steel tubing, the Primera will handle and corner with confidence. Rack and fender mounts, plus bottle cage mounts galore ensure that long trips are part of the Primera's original design. There's even a pump peg for a full-length pump behind the head tube (remember those?). An alloy fork is mounted in the oversized 44mm head tube, adding an extra dash of handling precision. The aforementioned S&S couplers do not affect the torsional strength of the Primera's frame. If anything, they're actually the strongest part of the frame. Shimano's 11-speed 105 components are found throughout the Primera's drivetrain, including the dual-control levers and the derailleurs. An alloy Co-Motion 50/34T crankset and 11-34T Shimano cassette boast a wide gearing range for tackling hilly terrain. Stopping power is equally impressive, with 200mm disc brakes being clamped by Avid's BB7 cable-operated brakes. 40-spoke hubs are laced to Alex ATD 490 alloy rims, bringing a durable wheelset to the Primera. Continental's Ultrasport II 700x28c tires bring easy speed and tenacious grip to every mile. An alloy FSA Omega compact handlebar and FSA Gossamer stem is found up front for the captain. An alloy Co-Motion stoker bar and adjustable alloy Co-Motion stoker stem makes finding a comfortable fit for the back-seater easy. The Java is an excellent example of that, allowing tandem couples to explore off road as well as on. The Java is an off-road touring tandem, with room for 29'er tires up to 2.0" wide. A long wheelbase and stable geometry brings confidence when plowing through gravel and singletrack. Handbuilt with butted chro-moly steel, the frame is strong enough for loaded touring with powerful riders aboard. An oversized 44mm head tube anchors the fork, improving handling and braking, especially at high speeds. Thru-axles front and rear ensure perfect hub and brake rotor alignment. The Java's rack and fender mounts -along with 4 bottle mounts- ensure you don't leave anything behind on long trips! Co-Motion installs Shimano Ultegra 11-speed shifting components at the Java's drivetrain, with the front derailleur. The long-cage rear derailleur is a XTR mountain bike unit, ensuring durability. An alloy 53/39/30T triple crankset and 11-34T Shimano XT cassette adds a less-than-1-to-1 ratio for fearsome inclines when loaded down with touring bags. Reliable wheels are important to every tandem, and Co-Motion didn't scrimp on the Java's setup. Handbuilt 40-spoke alloy Velocity Cliffhanger 29er rims are laced to precisiton-built DT Swiss 540 hubs, making the Java more than ready for singletrack. Treaded Panaracer Pasela 700x38" tires come stock, and boast bags of grip on unpaved surfaces. The Java's brakes are well engineered for high speeds in every environment, with cable-operated Avid BB7 Road disc brakes coupled with meaty 200mm rotors. For the Java's "furniture", Co-Motion chose FSA's alloy Omega compact road handlebar for the captain, and an alloy Co-Motion stoker bar for the back-seater. An alloy FSA Gossamer stem up front and an adjustable Co-Motion stoker stem makes a comfortable fit easy. Selle Italia's XR Flow saddles soak up impacts well on rough and choppy surfaces. The frame of every tandem needs to be strong, not just for the riders and possible cargo, but also for handling and safety. Cannondale's SmartFormed aluminum frame tubes on the RT2 tandem are butted with the expectation that two powerful riders will take it through its paces. Cornering won't feel rubbery with a stong tandem frame, and braking will feel progressive and powerful. A massive 1.5" head tube/steerer tube interface adds handling precision, espcially during high-speed turns and descents. Rack and water bottle mounts are found throughout the RT2, giving the tandem versatility for longer rides and trips to the farmer's market. A 3D forged fork soaks up road vibration, keeping the captain more comfortable.

The drivetrain of the RT2 consists of 10-speed Shimano 105 components, including the dual-control levers, front triple derailleur and long-cage rear derailleur. An FSA Gossamer tandem 52/39/30T crankset and Shimano Tiagra 12-30T cassette adds a massive gearing range to the bike, making challenging climbs less fearsome. 36-spoke alloy DT Swiss wheels are wrapped with Continental's legandary 700x25c GatorSkin tires, bringing puncture-resistant confidence to every mile.
