One bike for everything? From commutes to adventures down unpaved trails? The Dual Sport 3 will do just that.

A bike that lets a rider do everything is easier to find these days, but Trek does it better for female riders, too. The overall fit of the Dual Sport 3 for women is better for a wider range of riders and rider flexibilities, including a shorter standover height, more comfortable Nebula saddle and better handlebar grips. The frame of the Dual Sport 3 is built with Trek's lightweight Alpha Gold Aluminum tubing, offering a smooth ride quality and more precise handling on bumpy surfaces. Mounts for racks, fenders and bottle cages add versatility to the Dual Sport 3, too. There's even an aperture in the left chainstay for a DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor (sold separately) if you use a fitness tracker on your smartphone.

Up front, an adjustable Suntour NEX suspension fork helps soak up impacts from potholes and gravel surfaces. A lockout knob at the top of the fork crown allows the rider to shut off the suspension feature on the the fly. Cool, huh? The Dual Sport 3's Shimano 9-speed Acera shifters, Acera front derailleur and Alivio rear derailleur boasts lightning-quick operation at your fingertips. An 11-36T Shimano cassette and 46/30T Shimano alloy crankset provides a massive gearing range for challenging terrain and heavy cargo loads. Helping to reign in speed on the Dual Sport 3 is the job of Shimano's MT200 hydraulic disc brakes. That's right, hydraulic disc brakes that bring excellent stopping power in all conditions, rain or shine. Bontrager's tubeless-ready alloy wheels are shod with Bontrager GR1 Expert 700x40c semi-treaded tires, bringing confident grip to the Dual Sport 3 on a wide range of surfaces. Bontrager also supplies the aformentioned Nebula H1 saddle, alloy seatpost, accessory-ready Blendr stem, and alloy handlebar.

Size Small frames have a top tube that dips down as it approaches the seat tube. This makes for a lower standover height, which is good for shorter riders because it allows them to straddle their bike more easily. Larger frames (M and up) have a straight top tube because taller riders typically don't have the same issues.
