The Domane SL frame is constructed of Trek's exclusive 500 Series OCLV carbon fiber. This "recipe" of carbon fiber allows Trek's engineering team to build a frame with incredible torsional strength, very light weight and award-winning ride quality. The Domane SL's threaded T47 bottom bracket anchors the crankset, ensuring flex-free power delivery with every turn of the pedals. The IsoSpeed decoupler found at the seat tube/top tube juncture helps to soak up road harshness: Potholes, railway crossings and pavement transitions. By allowing the seat tube to flex independently, the Domane SL makes every mile more comfortable. And when it comes to long distances over bad surfaces, comfort equals power and power equals speed.
Small features and details are found throughout the Domane SL 6. A storage compartment in the down tube eliminates the need for a seat bag to hold a flat repair kit. The frame and fork have room for tires up to 38mm wide. Internal brake hose routing keeps the Domane SL 6 looking clean and sleek. There's an aperture in the left chainstay for a DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor (sold separately).
The Domane SL 6 needed a high performance component group to keep up with the frameset. SRAM's Rival AXS components boast wireless electronic shifting, bringing perfect gear changes to every ride. Every. Single. Time. A detachable battery on each derailleur will run for roughly 500 miles between charges. The batteries are "swappable", in case one runs out of juice before the other. Battery levels can be read with SRAM's AXS smartphone app. The app can also change the shift button functions for righties and lefties. Cool, huh? The 46/33T SRAM Rival AXS crankset and 10-36T SRAM XG-1250 cassette bring a massive gearing range to the Domane SL 6. Roller coaster terrain and challenging inclines will be less fearsome with a less than 1-to-1 easiest gear!
Bontrager Aeolus Elite 35 OCLV carbon fiber wheels are designed around a wider tire from 28 to 38mm. A wider rim allows a given tire to put more rubber on the pavement, increasing traction and improving overall handling. The Aeolus Elite 35's are tubeless ready, and are shod with Bontrager's R3 Hard Case Lite tubeless-ready tire in a 700x32c size. SRAM Rival hydraulic disc brakes ensure excellent stopping power in all conditions, rain or shine.
Bontrager also supplies the Verse Comp saddle, accessory-ready alloy Blendr stem and Elite IsoZone alloy road handlebar.
