Trek Checkpoint ALR Gen 2 105 11-speed

We get requests for bikes that sometimes don't exist. We've been listening to our customer who want road drivetrains (for speed) on bikes otherwise designed for slower adventures on gravel. When we got handful of bare Checkpoint ALR framesets, we realized we could build the bike that somehow doesn't appear in the catalog.

We started with an aluminum Checkpoint ALR frameset. 300 Series Alpha aluminum tubing keeps weight low. When you look closely, most of the Checkpoint's frame tubes aren't round, thanks to hydroforming. This keeps the bike feeling responsive under hard pedaling, even while loaded down with gear. A tapered head tube, all-carbon fork and 12mm thru-axles add an extra dash of precision to overall handling. Need to add bags, racks and fenders? The Checkpoint ALR is covered with mounts for accessories from fork to rear dropouts!

Shimano's 11-speed 105 road components are found throughout this Checkpoint ALR, including the derailleurs, dual-control levers, 50/34T alloy crankset and hydraulic disc brakes. An 11-34T cassette brings a wide gearing range to the party, making steep ascents less challenging. Yes, that also gives a 50x11T top gear for keeping speed high, especially on descents! The dual-control levers coast and adjustable reach for smaller hands, while hydraulic disc brakes deliver excellent lever feel and feedback in all conditions. Devox tubeless-ready alloy wheels are shod with Maxxis Re-Fuse 700x40c smooth tread tires.
