Trek Checkpoint ALR 5 AXS Gen 2 Custom

We obtained a small number of Trek Checkpoint ALR frames and gave them upgrade builds. This example is a quick-shifting performance machine that is a step above the usual aluminum gravel machines.

A great bike needs a frameset that is more than up to the task. Trek's 300 Series Alpha aluminum frame delivers impressive torsional strength for precise handling and power delivery, despite being very light. This gives the Checkpoint ALR a sure-footed feel in rough and hilly terrain. Boatloads of rack and accessory mounts offer all kinds of options for all kinds of rides. From errand runs and commuting, to cross-state tours, the Checkpoint can tackle it all! A fully carbon fiber fork features fender eyelets and bottle mounts down each leg. There's even room for tires up to 45c (without fenders), so bring on chunky gravel and rutted trails.

SRAM's wireless AXS shifters derailleurs brings prefect shifting to every ride. SRAM Force shifters feature large buttons for ease of use, even with heavy gloves, and the levers boast an adjustable reach for smaller hands. The SRAM Rival "wide" front derailleur won't rub the cage's tail on fatter gravel tires. Out back, the rear derailleur can fit SRAM 12-speed AXS cassettes with up to a 36T large cog. The SRAM Rival AXS "wide" alloy crankset mounts a 43/30T chainring combination; perfect for steep and challenging terrain.

Wheels make the difference on roads rough and smooth, and this Checkpoint ALR is equipped with SUN Ringle's Duroc 30 wheelset. A light and durable alloy rim with straight-pull spokes help give the wheels a lively feel. 26mm inner rim widths allow the Panaracer Gravel King SK tires to spread out for improved control and a smoother ride. SRAM Force hydraulic disc brakes boast excellent stopping power in all conditions, rain or shine (or mud).
