Moots Routt 45 Rival AXS

The Routt 45 has been our best selling titanium gravel bike from Moots. Precise fabrication, incredible durability, just-right gravel geometry and a brilliant ride quality are just the beginning for the Routt 45.

Building with butted titanium tubing sourced from Washington, Moots starts from scratch in their workshop in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Moots has been building, riding and testing titanium bicycles for decades, giving them a unique insight as to exactly what makes a perfect gravel-conquering machine. The build and geometry of the Routt 45 is aimed at rides in rougher territory, smoothing out truly awful jeep doubletrack, fire roads and even low-grade singletrack. A more upright fit accommodates a wider range of riders -and rider flexibilities- for day long adventures. With room for tires up to 50mm, the Routt 45 can carry you through demanding terrain. The frame builders use US-sourced internally butted titanium tubes, keeping the frame light while tuning ride quality precisely for different frame sizes and rider weights. Moots pushed the technological envelope with 3D printed titanium thru-axle dropouts and a rear flat mount for a disc brake caliper. The Routt 45's oversized 44mm head tube allows the frame builders to use large diameter down tubes and a tapered fork steerer tube for precise handling and improved power transfer, especially when charging uphill out of the saddle. The bead blasted finish will stay beautiful for many years to come! A Moots carbon fiber fork, complete with the aforementioned tapered carbon steerer tube, soaks up fatiguing vibration. 12mm thru-axle installation adds an extra dash of handling precision.

This Routt 45 is equipped with SRAM's wireless Rival eTap AXS Wide components, delivering precise shifting and a wide gearing range for backcountry tours. The battery life is usually between 500-600 miles between recharges. The batteries are interchangeable front to rear, making charging a snap. SRAM also has a smartphone app that will tell you what the eTap AXS battery charge level is without plugging in. The "Wide" designation not only refers to the gearing range, but also to the extra clearance that the front derailleur and chainring offer for wider rear rubber. A 43/30T SRAM Rival crankset is matched with a 10-36T 12-speed SRAM cassette that will help deliver power when the terrain gets really challenging. The wireless dual-control Rival eTap AXS levers feature an adjustable lever reach for smaller hands. SRAM's single-button shifting operation is easy when wearing heavy winter gloves, too. Hydraulic SRAM Rival brakes are not only powerful, but will make speed control much more predictable in a wider range of conditions, rain or shine.

Enve supplies the carbon fiber wheelset known as AG25. Enve produces these wheels in Ogden, Utah to ensure excellent build quality and performance. They're tubeless ready with a hookless rim design that improves durability and reduces overall rotating weight. The rim's 25mm interior width allows a wider gravel-style tire to spread out, improving lateral grip and overall traction. The 40T freehub drive reduces free-play when pedaling out of corners. Panaracer's Gravel King SK 700x43c low-profile treaded tires are lightweight, keep rolling resistance low, and are tubeless-ready to boot.

Enve also produces the Routt 45's lightweight G Series carbon fiber gravel handlebar. The flared drops and short reach improve control on technical surfaces, while the carbon fiber construction soaks up vibration.
