When you want to take the plunge into off-road riding with a capable machine, the Pique 2 will make every trail more fun!

The Pique 2 is built to fly down technical singletrack and help you develop skills and confidence along the way. Racing? Exploration? The Pique Advanced Pro 29 1 will get you there! The bike's featherweight Advanced-grade carbon fiber frame helps keep the bike from feeling heavy and clumsy on long climbs, while Giant's exclusive Maestro rear suspension helps keep the rear wheel planted in rock gardens and root "fun houses". The rear shock is an air-adjustable Fox Float DPS Performance Elite unit, allowing easy setup for a wide range of rider weights and preferences. The shock is installed in a trunnion mount that reduces lateral binding on rough terrain. The upper rocker link is made from a lightweight Advanced Forged Composite material that resists twisting under harsh impacts. 100mm of rear suspension travel is useful when tackling technical descents! Up front, an air-adjustable Fox 32 Float SC Performance Elite suspension fork boasts 100mm of travel, bringing confident control in the twisties. A tapered OverDrive head tube adds an extra dash of precision to the Pique Advanced Pro 1's handling. Anchoring the crankset is a press-fit OverDrive bottom bracket, that practically eliminates drivetrain flex. Internal cable routing adds a sleek look to the Pique Advanced Pro 1 as well. Every size -even the Extra Small- gets a water bottle mount on the down tube.

With all that going for it, the drivetrain components better keep up! Shimano's high-performance off-road Deore XT components are up to the challenge. The 12-speed shifter, Shadow+ rear derailleur, 10-51T cassette, alloy Hollowgram II single-ring crankset and even the 30T chainring are from Shimano's Deore XT collection. Improvements abound from the previous generation of Deore XT components:

-The rear derailleur features a lever-operated clutch that helps prevent chain drop on rough singletrack and drop-offs

-The 12-speed 10-51T cassette is built with a mix of steel and aluminum cogs that keep rotating weight low while ensuring long component life

-Shimano's RapidFire Deore XT shifter requires 35% less effort to operate while retaining the clever dual-action downshift lever

Giant supplies the Giant XCR-1 29 tubeless carbon fiber wheels on the Pique Advanced Pro 1. That's right, carbon fiber wheels. Their incredibly low weight combined with tubeless tires make for a very low rotating mass, enhancing the bike's responsive feel. A 25mm inner rim width allows the tires to produce a wider "footprint" compared to narrower cross-country wheels, enhancing control on gravel-strewn singletrack. For high speed and low rolling resistance, Maxxis supplies the tubeless 29x2.25" Recon Race tires. Helping to reign in that speed is the job of Shimano's Deore XT hydraulic disc brakes. For all conditions, rain or shine, disc brakes bring confident control.

When the terrain sends you down a precipitous descent, the Pique Advanced Pro 1 has a great trick up its sleeve: A dropper post with a bar-mounted remote lever. A Contact Switch dropper seatpost gets the Sylvia SL saddle out of the way when you need to shift your weight backwards. Up front, an alloy Giant Contact SL stem and a carbon fiber Giant SLR XC handlebar completes the Pique Advanced Pro 29 1.

You've just got to see the color in person, too!

Dropper posts

A dropper seatpost allows you to quickly lower and raise your seat to give you an ideal riding position. Dropping your seat creates a lower center of gravity for better control and maneuverability on steep descents, while raising it puts you at normal riding height for efficient pedaling.

Construction can include either hydraulic- or cable-actuated systems and the post’s travel can either be infinitely adjustable or stopped at set intervals, depending on the model.

Dropper seatposts come in standard lengths and diameters and vary by the amount of travel.
