Everyone knows a lighter bike does everything better. From relentless climbs to just pulling away from stop signs, there's less effort and energy used by the rider. Gravel and adventure bikes benefit from lower weight, making hilly adventures more fun. When Liv used their proprietary Advanced-grade Composite carbon fiber to build the Devote Advanced Pro, they created their best women's gravel bike so far.
The Devote Advanced Pro is a clean-sheet-of-paper design, using precise carbon fiber layups to combine lightness, high torsional strength and an exceptional ride quality. A tapered OverDrive head tube/steerer tube interface improves handling precision, especially in high-speed turns and descents. The overall fit is more upright than a road racing bike, producing a comfortable posture for day-long adventures.
Clever details abound on the Devote Advanced Pro:

The components chosen for the Devote Advanced Pro are SRAM's brilliant 12-speed Force eTap AXS group. Wireless shifting on a bike built for off-road environments is nothing short of brilliant, eliminating shifter cables and housing that dusty (or muddy) surfaces regularly consume. SRAM's wireless shifting is truly lightning-quick, even under hard pedaling loads. This completely eliminates distractions regarding shifting technique. Removing the batteries from each derailleur for recharging is simple and tool-free. 500 miles between recharges is common, depending on frequency of front shifts. Charge level is displayed on simple LED lights on each derailleur, or with the free SRAM AXS smartphone app. The Force crankset is a 43/30T combination, delivering low, hill-climbing gearing. The Devote Advanced Pro's cassette is a 12-speed Force XG-1270 10-36T unit, providing a massive greeting range for tackling fearsome terrain. The dual-control levers boast an adjustable lever reach and contact point adjustment, allowing riders with shorter fingers a safer, more confident stop. Textured lever hoods and shift buttons improve the already-intuitive shifting operation. SRAM's hydraulic Force brake calipers bring excellent stopping power to every ride in all conditions, rain or shine.
You'd think Liv would need to spec some pretty boring wheels on the Devote Advanced Pro after that. Instead, they added their own CXR-2 Carbon Disc WheelSystem. Yes, that's a tubeless carbon fiber wheelset. A wide 25mm inner profile lets any given tire produce a wider "footprint", enhancing traction and reducing rolling resistance. Tubeless 700x40mm Maxxis Velocita all-road tires bring bags of grip to every mile, along with exceptionally low rolling resistance.
Even the "furniture" of the Devote Advanced Pro was carefully selected to deliver higher performance on rough terrain. A women's Liv Alacra SL saddle sits atop a Composite carbon fiber D-Fuse SLR seatpost. The D-shaped seatpost flexes backward under hard hits, reducing the shock of pavement transitions and railway crossings. That same D-Fuse technology is featured in the handlebars as well. A Contact SLR XR D-Fuse unit also soaks up impacts more effectively than garden-variety alloy bars. An alloy Contact stem completes this incredible expedition-ready machine.

Electronic shifting systems use powerful servomotors to rapidly shift the chain. Because microprocessors and sensors constantly monitor every aspect of the system, they shift with precisely and without chain rub.
Many major systems have customizable shifting. Some have the ability to add remote shifters for common riding positions, and some even allow you to change the functions of the shifting buttons.
Electronic groupsets are responsive and consistent. There are no cables to stretch and wear out, so you get a flawless shift every time. The added bonus is you’ll never have to replace a derailleur cable ever again.
