Details
Gravel cycling has inspired riders around the world, but not all gravel bikes are created equal. The Devote Advanced 2 brings brilliant design and technology to every mile.
The frameset, the “backbone” if you will, of every gravel bike needs to be strong as well as light. By using Advanced-Grade carbon fiber throughout the frameset, the Devote Advanced 2 handles brilliantly on gravel, dirt and broken pavement. No energy is wasted due to a flexy crankset, yet the bike soaks up fatiguing vibration from washboard surfaces like a sponge. An oversized tapered head tube/steerer tube interface adds and extra dash of handling precision, especially in high speed turns and descents. By lengthening the top tube and altering the fork rake of the Devote Advanced, the bike handles loose gravel descents with increased confidence. The stem has been shortened to provide a familiar fit at any given size. Internal cable routing helps keep the bike looking clean and sleek. With mounts for bottle cages on the frame and fork, and a rear rack, the Devote Advanced 2 will help you carry all the gear you need for exploration off the beaten path. If your adventures get really gnarly, there’s room for tires up to 45mm.
Gravel cycling requires durable components that can operate with minimal effort. Shimano’s 11-speed GRX shifters and derailleurs deliver effortless gear changes, even in messy conditions. The rear derailleur features a clutch that helps prevent chain drop on bumpy surfaces. The front derailleur’s toggle-pivot design requires less hand strength when shifting to the large chainring. The alloy Praxis crankset’s 48/32T is paired with a Shimano 11-34T, bringing a generous gearing range to the Devote Advanced 2. Tubeless alloy P-X2 wheels are wrapped with tubeless 700x40c Crosscut AT1 gravel-ready tires, bringing reliable traction in a wide range of conditions. Flat-mount Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes boast excellent stopping power in all conditions, rain or shine (or mud).
A Liv Approach saddle sits atop a clever D-Fuse Composite carbon fiber seatpost. The seatpost’s shape allows it to flex backwards when dealing with hard impacts. Up front, Giant’s Contact XR D-Fuse handlebar and Contact alloy stem complete the cockpit.
