Looking for a great place to start off-roading, but don't want to spend the kid's college fund? Giant has your back with the Stance 29 1.

Stance is Giant's entry-level full-suspension platform, starting with their proven FlexPoint rear suspension geometry. By simply allowing the rear triangle to flex, rather than adding maintenance-heavy pivots, the Stance can grab ahold of singletrack with the best of them! An air-adjustable RockShox Monarch R rear shock can be tweaked for rider weight and riding preferences. The Stance 29 1's ALUXX-grade hydroformed aluminum frame keeps weight low, while a tapered OverDrive head tube adds to the bike's precise feel in tight and twisty trails. Up front, an air-adjustable Crest 34 SL RCL suspension fork helps the Stance 29 1 go where you point it. A 15x110 thru-axle hub improves handling further.

Single-ring drivetrains keep weight and complexity down, helping to get you down the trail with minimum fuss. SRAM's SX Eagle 12-speed shifter, SX Eagle rear derailleur, SX Eagle 30T crankset and 11-50T SX Eagle cassette are all designed to work together in perfect harmony, ensuring precise operation and long service life. Tubeless-ready alloy AM 29 wheels are shod with Maxxis Forekaster 29x2.35" knobby tires, giving the Stance 29 1 bags of grip in rock gardens and root "fun houses". Helping to reign in speed is set of Shimano's hydraulic disc brakes that work in all conditions, rain or shine (or mud). A Giant Romero saddle sits atop a Giant Contact Switch dropper post, while an alloy Contact stem and Connect Trail handlebar complete this high-value trail-tamer.

Dropper posts

A dropper seatpost allows you to quickly lower and raise your seat to give you an ideal riding position. Dropping your seat creates a lower center of gravity for better control and maneuverability on steep descents, while raising it puts you at normal riding height for efficient pedaling.

Construction can include either hydraulic- or cable-actuated systems and the post’s travel can either be infinitely adjustable or stopped at set intervals, depending on the model.

Dropper seatposts come in standard lengths and diameters and vary by the amount of travel.
