If your travels take you far -and you want your bike to keep up with your wanderlust- the Felt Broam 40 will get you to your destination.
The Broam 40 was planned from the outset as a bike that would keep you comfortable while covering ground both rough and smooth. A long wheelbase and stable-as-a-limo geometry make every mile easier, espcially if the "roads" are barely worthy of the name. The Broam 40's tall head tube allows a wider range of riders -and ride flexibilities- to get comfortable for long days in the saddle. Felt's own featherweight Superlite aluminum frame has been hydroformed to improve torsional strength for better power transfer and when carrying cargo. The added strength of the Broam 40's tapered head tube and 12mm thru-axles improves handling, especially during high-speed turns and descents. Mounts for racks, fenders and bottle cages (up to 4!) are found throughout the Broam 40, making it versatile for everything from touring to commuting to grocery-getting. Internal cable routing keeps shifter cables clean in dirty or messy conditions. A UHC Performance carbon fiber fork soaks up vibration as well as keeping overall weight low.
The Broam 40's 10-speed Shimano Tiagra and GRX components bring precise operation and durability along for the ride. The dual-control Tiagra levers have an adjustable reach, allowing riders with small hands better confidence and control, especially under hard braking. The GRX 400RX derailleurs shift the chain across a Shimano GRX 46/30T crankset and 11-34T Shimano cassette. Yes, that's a less than 1-to-1 ratio for the "granny gear"! A clutch feature in the GRX rear derailleur works hard to keep the chain engaged when tackling bumpy trails and gravel.
Alloy wheels with a 21mm interior rim width are wrapped with meaty 700x40c Maxxis Refuse tires, allowing the Broam 40 to soak up impacts and boast bags of grip. The bike's maximum tire clearance is 45mm, so even wider tires are possible... Helping to reign in speed is a pair of TRP's cable-operated HY/RD disc brakes. The Broam 40's Shimano Tiagra brake levers are classic cable-style units, but the caliper's isolated hydraulics automatically adjust for pad wear and offer better lever feedback. Cool, huh? An SR Essenza Blackstar Gel saddle is mounted on an alloy Devox A3 seatpost, while an adjustable-angle alloy Devox stem and alloy Devox "adventure bend" road handlebar complete the Broam 40.
The Broam 60 isn't made for hard-nosed pro-racer wannabes. Instead, it makes the rider seek out more fun and adventure!
The outdoors is a big place when you want to venture beyond the pavement. The Broam 60 can help you do just that, and do it for less than you expect. Felt's own SuperLite custom butted aluminum frame and UHC Performance carbon fiber fork provides a light and strong "backbone" for challenging days in the saddle. Need room for wide tires? The Broam 60 can take 45mm rubber if you need it. Mounts for racks, bottle cages and fenders make the Broam 60 a practical machine. Internal cable routing keeps the bike looking clean and sleek, too. The long wheelbase, slack geometry and upright fit make for a comfortable fit and feel over rough surfaces, especially on long days. Shimano's 8-speed Claris shifters and derailleurs operate with precision, and even feature an adjustable lever reach for smaller hands. A Shimano RS200 46/34T crankset and Shimano 11-34T cassette boast a huge gearing range for challenging ascents and heavy cargo. Tubeless-ready alloy wheels are wrapped with meaty 700x40c Maxxis Refuse tires, offering a super-smooth ride on surfaces paved or unpaved. The Broam 60 also features cable-operated Tektro disc brakes with platter-like 160mm rotors, giving the rider confidence when stopping in wet and/or muddy conditions. A comfy SR Essenza Blackstar gel saddle sits atop an alloy Devox seatpost, while an adjustable-angle alloy stem and alloy Devox handlebar with an 8-degree flare completes this value-packed adventurer.
