Moots Routt RSL Force XPLR
$11,500.00

Moots has been building titanium bicycles in the middle of Colorado gravel country for years. Steamboat Springs resides in Routt County where miles and miles of unpaved roads allow the crew at Moots to test performance gravel bikes every day.

The Moots Routt RSL uses 3Al/2.5V double butted titanium tubing, giving the frame incredible strength, lightness (only 1350 grams!) and a sublime ride quality. By using different frame tube diameters and wall thicknesses, the ride quality is tunable for different frame sizes. The titanium rear dropouts and brake mounts are 3D printed, keeping weight low in a critical spot without sacrificing strength. A large diameter head tube improves torsional strength, adding an extra dash of razor-sharpness in fast turns and descents. The Routt RSL's threaded bottom bracket all but eliminates noisy cranks. The "RSL" designation also comes with a racier geometry and a slightly more aggressive fit compared to the Routt 45. 3 bottle mounts and hidden fender mounts makes the Routt RSL a versatile machine for longer rides and rainy pre-season training. Our in-stock example features an internal hose routing for the rear brake. Largest tire size for this Routt RSL is 45mm with current wheelset rim widths. Up front, a Moots Flat Mount Disc Gravel Carbon fork keeps weight low while ensuring precise handling. Despite a long hub-to-crown length for tire and mud clearance, the fork weighs in at only 475 grams. A Chris King I7 headset shows that Moots sweats the small stuff when it comes to overall bike reliability and durability.

We chose SRAM's latest Force eTap XPLR component group to equip our Routt RSL. SRAM's electronic wireless shifting means no wires or cables to snag or foul in rough conditions, and every shift is literally lightning-quick. It's set up as a single-ring drivetrain, keeping overall weight low while taking advantage of the group's generous 12-speed gearing range. The SRAM Force crankset is carbon fiber, and the USA-made 44T chainring is from Wolf Tooth. Out back, a SRAM XG-1271 cassette boasts a huge 10-44T range to help make mountains into molehills. The SRAM Force eTap XPLR derailleur features an Orbit chain retention mechanism to prevent dropped chains and roadside delays.

The Routt RSL's rolling stock consists of ENVE's tubeless carbon fiber AG25 wheelset. Very light weight -only 1460 grams- is only part of the AG25's repertoire. A durable hookless rim design, 25mm interior rim width, and shallow 21mm profile makes the AG25 wheelset a perfect choice for adventurous riding on terrible roads. Or no roads at all! They're tubeless ready, too. The Routt RSL's tubeless tires are meaty Panaracer Gravel King SK tires in a comfy 700x43c size. SRAM Force hydraulic disc brakes boast outstanding stopping power in all conditions, rain or shine (or mud).

The Routt RSL's "furniture" consists of a Fizik Aliante saddle, a titanium Moots seatpost and titanium Moots stem. A carbon fiber ENVE Gravel handlebar completes this outstanding adventure machine you'll leave to your grandchildren.

Moots can build your titanium dream bike for you! Unique custom finishes, custom geometry and specific component builds can all be done to suit your tastes and expectations. Call or come in today!

Trek Checkpoint SL 6
$4,000.00

Trek's Checkpoint SL 6 gets a few upgrades from the previous season.

Technology mixed with decades of engineering experience at Trek has led us to awesome machines like this. Trek's 500 Series OCLV carbon fiber makes up the frame, producing a very light chassis. Need even wider tires? The Checkpoint SL 6 will take rubber up to 45mm wide, thanks to a roomy fork and a clever "dropped" drive-side chainstay. Got plenty of stuff? Rack mounts, fender mounts and up to 4 bottle mounts let you install all kinds of bags and accessories for multi-day adventures. Are the "roads" barely worthy of the name? The Checkpoint SL 6 has your back with an IsoSpeed decoupler and Ride Tuned seatmast at the top of the seat tube/top tube juncture. This clever technology allows the frame and seatmast to comfortably flex when attacking washboard hardpan, pavement transitions and railway crossings. A stable geometry and a low bottom bracket add confidence on loose surfaces. That comfort doesn't come at the cost of handling and torsional strength, though. A tapered head tube and rock-solid BB90 bottom bracket adds strength for precise handling and flex-free power delivery. An adjustable Strangehold thru-axle rear dropout can adjust the wheelbase by as much as 15mm, offering a longer wheelbase for stability, or a shorter wheelbase for the more classic feel of a road bike. Loose surfaces can mean lots of "roost" from spinning tires, but the Checkpoint SL's Carbon Armor will protect the downtube's bottom from flying stones. Front and rear 12mm thru-axles bring an extra dash of torsional strength for razor-sharp handling.

Shimano’s latest GRX gravel components are a natural choice for the Checkpoint SL 6. The 11-speed “RX800” version of the gravel-specific components provide a durable high-performance drivetrain when heading into parts unknown. Shimano’s 40/31T GRX crankset is paired with an 11-34T Shimano HG-800 cassette, bringing a wide gearing range to every adventure. The Checkpoint's dual-control levers are reshaped for riders spending more time on their hoods, along with a retextured hood surface. Hydraulic disc brakes bring plenty of stopping power and excellent lever feedback to the Checkpoint SL 6.

Bontrager supplies the alloy Paradigm Comp 25 wheels, bringing light weight to the bike with every acceleration. The 25mm interior rim width allows wide tires to spread out for a better footprint, improving grip on loose surfaces. They're tubeless-ready, improving reliability during backcountry riding and racing when set up with sealant. The tires are Bontrager's GR1 Team Issue tires in a 700x40c size; perfect for hardpan, light gravel and rough pavement.

The Checkpoint SL 6's "furniture" starts with a Bontrager Arvada Comp saddle, offering a comfortable perch when traversing technical terrain for many hours -or days- on the road. An alloy Bontrager Elite IsoZone VR-CF handlebar features IsoZone padding in depressions, soaking up fatiguing vibrations. An alloy Bontrager stem has Blendr accessory mounts for lights, a handlebar computer or a GoPro.

Cannondale Topstone Carbon 5
$3,200.00
Welcome to a leader in multi-surface riding: Cannondale's Topstone Carbon 5. Cannondale takes innovation seriously. Not only is the Topstone Carbon's frame a featherweight masterpiece, it uses a simple but effective rear suspension geometry. Called Kingpin, the rear triangle is designed and engineered to flex vertically, while resisting torsional twisting. The clever LockR Pivot in the seat tube anchors the left and right sides. 30mm of rear suspension travel allows the Kingpin Carbon 5 to clamber over especially rough surfaces, broken pavement and railway crossings with ease. The rest of the TopStone Carbon 5's frame has specific carbon fiber layups that enhance rigidity, especially under hard pedaling loads. The shaped seat tube also plays a part in soaking up fatiguing vibration and impacts. Internal cable routing keeps the bike looking clean and sleek. There's room for tires up to 40mm wide if off-road adventures need meatier rubber. Want to add 650B wheels and tires? The Topstone Carbon 5 will accept 650x48c tires. The overall geometry of the Topstone Carbon models is stable and more upright, allowing a wider range of riders -and rider flexibilities- to get comfortable. Equipping the Topstone Carbon 5 required components dedicated to off-road adventures. Trek Checkpoint ALR 5
$2,200.00

Checkpoint's aluminum-framed ALR bikes represent Trek's commitment to riders looking for freedom and adventure, but who also look for value.

The Checkpoint ALR 5 combines rugged construction, a responsive feel, versatile design and a fun-loving geometry for riders looking to discover (or rediscover) adventure cycling. An upright fit allows a wider range of riders -and rider flexibilities- to get comfortable. The 300 Series Alpha aluminum frame features tapered and butted tubes created by hydroforming, keeping weight low while adding plenty of strength. The adjustable Stranglehold rear thru-axle allows the rider to change the wheelbase up to 15mm, adding stability and tire clearance. How much clearance? Up to 45mm (!), depending on rim width. A tapered head tube/steerer tube interface also adds handling precision while traversing rough surfaces. There's more strength to be found at the press-fit BB86.5 bottom bracket that all but eliminates power-robbing flex at the crankset. A 3S chain keeper, Control Freak internal cable routing, and accessory mounts from stem to stern demonstrate how much this bike is ready for expeditions across town or across the state.

Shimano's latest 11-speed GRX components are found throughout the Checkpoint ALR 5. GRX dual-control levers feature comfortable lever hoods and an adjustable lever reach for shorter hands. A 46/30T Shimano GRX crankset is matched with an 11-34T Shimano 105 cassette, boasting a very wide gearing range for tackling challenging terrain.

Felt Bicycles Broam 40
$1,699.00

If your travels take you far -and you want your bike to keep up with your wanderlust- the Felt Broam 40 will get you to your destination.

The Broam 40 was planned from the outset as a bike that would keep you comfortable while covering ground both rough and smooth. A long wheelbase and stable-as-a-limo geometry make every mile easier, espcially if the "roads" are barely worthy of the name. The Broam 40's tall head tube allows a wider range of riders -and ride flexibilities- to get comfortable for long days in the saddle. Felt's own featherweight Superlite aluminum frame has been hydroformed to improve torsional strength for better power transfer and when carrying cargo. The added strength of the Broam 40's tapered head tube and 12mm thru-axles improves handling, especially during high-speed turns and descents. Mounts for racks, fenders and bottle cages (up to 4!) are found throughout the Broam 40, making it versatile for everything from touring to commuting to grocery-getting. Internal cable routing keeps shifter cables clean in dirty or messy conditions. A UHC Performance carbon fiber fork soaks up vibration as well as keeping overall weight low.

The Broam 40's 10-speed Shimano Tiagra and GRX components bring precise operation and durability along for the ride. The dual-control Tiagra levers have an adjustable reach, allowing riders with small hands better confidence and control, especially under hard braking. The GRX 400RX derailleurs shift the chain across a Shimano GRX 46/30T crankset and 11-34T Shimano cassette. Yes, that's a less than 1-to-1 ratio for the "granny gear"! A clutch feature in the GRX rear derailleur works hard to keep the chain engaged when tackling bumpy trails and gravel.

Alloy wheels with a 21mm interior rim width are wrapped with meaty 700x40c Maxxis Refuse tires, allowing the Broam 40 to soak up impacts and boast bags of grip. The bike's maximum tire clearance is 45mm, so even wider tires are possible... Helping to reign in speed is a pair of TRP's cable-operated HY/RD disc brakes. The Broam 40's Shimano Tiagra brake levers are classic cable-style units, but the caliper's isolated hydraulics automatically adjust for pad wear and offer better lever feedback. Cool, huh? An SR Essenza Blackstar Gel saddle is mounted on an alloy Devox A3 seatpost, while an adjustable-angle alloy Devox stem and alloy Devox "adventure bend" road handlebar complete the Broam 40.

The long wheelbase, slack geometry and upright fit make for a comfortable fit and feel over rough surfaces, especially on long days. Shimano's 8-speed Claris shifters and derailleurs operate with precision, and even feature an adjustable lever reach for smaller hands. A Shimano RS200 46/34T crankset and Shimano 11-34T cassette boast a huge gearing range for challenging ascents and heavy cargo. Tubeless-ready alloy wheels are wrapped with meaty 700x40c Maxxis Refuse tires, offering a super-smooth ride on surfaces paved or unpaved. The Broam 60 also features cable-operated Tektro disc brakes with platter-like 160mm rotors, giving the rider confidence when stopping in wet and/or muddy conditions.
