Hardtail

Giant Fathom 29 2
$1,500.00

If you're an adventurer more than a racer, and want a hardtail mountain bike that's up for it, the Fathom 29 2 is ready.

The Fathom 29 2 is built around a light ALUXX-SL aluminum frame, ensuring excellent handling, climbing and pedaling response. A tapered OverDrive head tube adds a precise feel in tight and twisty singletrack, while a press-fit bottom bracket ensures flex-free power delivery. The slack 66 degree head tube angle makes every technical descent less tricky. Internal cable routing adds a clean look, too. With an air-adjustable Crest RCL suspension fork, the Fathom 29 2 can tackle rock gardens and technical terrain with confidence. The Crest RCL's 130mm of suspension travel handles rough rock gardens and stair-step descents much better than a short-travel XC fork. A 10-speed Shimano shifter operates a clutch-equipped Shimano Deore rear derailleur, adding fingertip precision to every gear change on the Fathom 29 2. Tektro supplies the hydraulic disc brakes and meaty 180mm rotors, adding excellent stopping power even in wet and muddy conditions. 30mm wide alloy 29'er wheels are shod with tubeless 29x2.5" Maxxis tires, boasting considerable grip over gravel, dirt and mud. A Giant Contact Switch dropper post gets the Romero saddle out of the way on steep "tip-ins" with a handlebar-mounted remote lever. Alloy Contact handlebars and stem complete this trail-ready machine for the riders who have no finish line.

Giant Fathom 1
$1,850.00

Riding on new trails. Exploring the backwoods. Catching the scenery. Have fun doing it. That's why Giant built the Fathom 1.

Giant's Fathom 1 was not built as a hardcore race machine. Could you race it? Sure! But it was built for the simple pleasure of off-road riding without overly complicated suspension and a high price tag. For most of us, that's plenty. The fit is a bit more upright, and the handling is stable and predictable; perfect for fun while getting dirty. Giant's ALUXX SL-Grade aluminum makes up the Fathom 1's frame, giving the bike a light feel, while offering rock-solid handling and power delivery. A tapered head tube adds and extra dash of handling precision, especially in tight and twisty singletrack. Internal cable routing gives the Fathom 1 a clean, sleek look. multiple bottle mounts add to the Fathom 1's versatility. An air-adjustable Giant Crest SL RCL suspension fork soaks up technical rock gardens with 130mm of travel. With a 66 degree head tube angle matched with the Crest 34, the Fathom 1 will bring confidence and control to every descent!

When Giant decided to equip the flagship of the Fathom line, they didn't mess around. SRAM's 12-speed SX Eagle shifter and rear NX Eagle derailleur deliver gear changes with lightning speed. An alloy SRAM SX Eagle crankset gets a 30T Direct Mount chainring, providing outstanding power transfer. A SRAM Eagle 11-50T cassette provides a massive gearing range for hilly trails on day-long rides. All this might seem like the component spec on a race bike, but it still makes perfect sense when you just want to enjoy the trails.

Big, meaty tires are what makes the Fathom 1 such a blast. Maxxis supplies the tubeless-ready Ardent Race 27.5x2.6" tires that bite into loose singletrack, gravel and mud with ease. Giant AM 27.5 tubeless alloy wheels anchor those tires with a 30mm interior width, bringing precise handling to twisty trails. Shimano BR-MT420 hydraulic disc brakes help reign in speed in all conditions, rain or shine (or mud). Giant's Contact Switch dropper post helps get the Romero saddle out of the way with a bar-mounted remote lever. An alloy Contact stem and handlebar finishes off the cockpit of this fun-loving machine.

Trek Procaliber 9.5
$2,450.00

Cross country racing demands speed and agility. The trails get twisty, the climbs get more demanding, and the competition doesn't let up. Neither should you!

The Procaliber is a pure racer, built for traveling down singletrack as fast as the rider can pedal. Every cross country machine should be built feather-light, so that nothing holds back a rider hammering out of every corner and attacking every climb. The Procaliber 9.5 is built around an OCLV Mountain carbon fiber frame, keeping total bike weight as low as possible while still maintaining a rugged design. Lightness, however, doesn't result in a rubbery frame that can't corner or transmit power. The Procaliber 9.5's frame details ensure every pedal stroke gets instant response. A press-fit BB92 bottom bracket that anchors the crankset, along with a 12mm rear thru-axle dropout add rigidity to the rear triangle. The frame's down tube isn't a heavy curved shape, but is instead a Straight Shot linear design for further weight reduction. The Knock Block keyed headset prevents the fork crown from impacting the downtube in the event of a crash. A tapered head tube adds handling precision in every technical corner. Internal cable routing and flat-mount disc brake caliper installation keep the Procaliber 9.5 looking clean and sleek, too.

Rough singletrack on a hardtail can tire any racer, no matter how fit. Trek's race-proven IsoSpeed decoupler found at the top of the seat tube allows the frame to flex vertically to absorb trail chatter without compromising overall frame rigidity. Front suspension consists of an air-adjustable RockShox Judy SL suspension fork, bringing 100mm of travel to the party.

Single-ring drivetrains have come of age, and the Procaliber 9.5 uses Shimano components to maximum effect. A 12-speed Shimano Deore RapidFire shifter operates a Shimano Deore Shadow+ rear derailleur, offering lightning-quick shifting and long service life. The lever-operated clutch on the derailleur helps keep chain tension tight to prevent dropped chains on the really rough stuff. Cool, huh? The alloy Shimano single-ring crankset sports a 30T chainring, while a Shimano Deore cassette boasts an absolutely massive 10-51T gearing range. Roller-coaster race courses are no long fearsome with the Procaliber 9.5 on your side! Rolling stock consists of Bontrager's tubeless-ready alloy Bontrager Kovee wheels wrapped with meaty 29x2.20" tubeless-ready Bontrager XR2 Team Issue tires (maximum recommended tire width is 29"x2.40", in case you were wondering). XC racing can get muddy in a hurry, but Shimano's hydraulic disc brakes help to reign in speed with excellent lever feedback and stopping power. The Procaliber 9.5's Bontrager Arvada saddle provides a comfy perch for long hours on the trails, while an alloy 2-bolt Bontrager seatpost can put up with harsh conditions without loosening. An accessory-ready alloy Bontrager Rhythm Comp stem and alloy Bontrager handlebar completes this race-ready speed machine.

Trek Procaliber 9.6
$3,100.00

A few short years ago, most riders were doubtful that a hardtail cross-country bike could get much better. Frames were lighter than ever. Components worked better and lasted longer. 29'er wheels and high-performance tires did a better job of helping the rider stay upright at top speed. How could Trek possibly improve the racing hardtail?

The designers in Waterloo, WI looked at their award-winning Domane road bike (and Boone cyclocross bike) and wondered if their IsoSpeed decoupler could improve performance on the trail as much as it did on the road. They were right. The result is the Procaliber cross-country hardtail. Meticulously built with the right components, the Procaliber is an exceptional machine for all-out racing.

Trek's OCLV Mountain carbon fiber frame boasts astonishing torsional strength as well as feather-lightness. Power transfer from the crankset to the wheels is lightning-quick, delivering trail-conquering speed and acceleration. The bike's overall geometry gives it nimble handling for race day performance, or for just cutting loose on local singletrack.

Razor-sharp handling and excellent power transfer are all well and good, but the IsoSpeed decoupler found at the seat tube/down tube juncture is the secret to rider comfort. And as we all know, comfort = power and power = speed. Staying fresher for longer allows every rider to give their best performance, especially at the finish line. Power transfer is improved with a press-fit PF92 bottom bracket, while a tapered head tube adds handling precision, especially on bumpy terrain. Internal cable routing keeps the Procaliber 9.6 looking clean, too. There's even a polymer downtube guard that protects the paint from "roost" flying off the front tire. Up front, an air-adjustable RockShox Recon Gold RL suspension fork helps tackle rock gardens and technical terrain with 100mm of travel. Don't need the suspension on gravel sections? A remote lockout lever lets you shut it off without taking your hands off the bars. Cool, huh?All this technology has been put through the wringer at World Cup mountain bike races by Trek's Factory Racing Team. If the Procaliber will put up with that, we're sure it'll impress you...

The components haven't been overlooked on the Procaliber 9.6, and they're all race-tested, too. 12-speed Shimano SLX shifters operate a Shimano Deore XT rear derailleur, ensuring lightning-quick operation in the heat of battle. A Shimano alloy crankset with a 30T chainring and a 10-51T Shimano SLX cassette boast a massive gearing range for roller-coaster courses and all-day adventures. Trek didn't scrimp on the Procaliber 9.6's wheelset, giving it a set of tubeless-ready alloy Bontrager Kovee Comp 23 wheels wrapped with grippy tubeless Bontrager XR2 Team Issue tires. Front and rear thru-axle hubs and Boost 110/148 hub spacing adds lateral strength to the wheels, improving handling even further. A Rapid Drive 108 rear free hub all but eliminates wasted "free play" between coasting and accelerating. Easy speed, bags of traction and proven durability are all found here! Helping to reign in speed -rain or shine- is the job of Shimano's MT4100 hydraulic disc brakes. A Bontrager Arvada saddle, alloy 2-bolt Bontrager Comp seatpost, accessory-ready alloy Rhythm stem and alloy Comp handlebar complete the Procaliber 9.6.

Now, go pin on a number.
