For many riders looking for a high-performance endurance bike, the Domane SLR 7 Disc will check all the right boxes. How well? Bicycling Magazine awarded the Domane SLR 7 their Bike of the Year award for 2020!
The Domane series of bicycles are developed from the experiences of Trek's Factory Racing Team over many years of racing over the worst roads in Europe. From the cobblestones of Roubaix to the gravel roads of Tuscany, racing the Domane has brought new lessons to the engineers at Trek. The Domane SLR is the ultimate expression of Trek's commitment to building and improving high-performance endurance-category road bicycles.
To build the frame of the Domane SLR Disc bicycle, Trek used their proprietary 700 Series OCLV carbon fiber for incredible strength and feather-lightness. This material has been used in Trek's race-winning Madone road bicycles, guaranteeing excellent strength-to-weight attributes. From the start, Trek's engineers knew that the fit and geometry of the Domane SLR needed to be easy to fit a wider range of riders. Called Endurance Geometry, the bike's slightly shorter top tube and taller head tube allows the Domane SLR 7 Disc to fit more riders -and rider flexibilities- with greater comfort during multi-hour rides and races. The slightly longer wheelbase of the Domane SLR 7 Disc produces a more stable feel over rough surfaces, reducing rider fatigue. Power Transfer Construction is the name given to the Domane's frame architecture. With it, the overall tube shapes of the Domane SLR's main triangle are shaped to add torsional strength that is critical for flex-free power delivery, especially during hard climbing efforts up steep grades. Aerodynamics was considered for the Domane series for the first time, and Trek's renown Kammtail Virtual Foil (or KVF) frame shaping was used throughout the Domane SLR 7. Battling headwinds just got a little easier! Even the cables were tucked behind the headset and steerer tube to reduce overall drag. Internal storage in the down tube is a clever solution to clumsy seat bags hanging off the saddle rails. There's even an aperture for a multi-tool in the door under the front bottle cage. Cool, huh? The tapered head tube anchors the all-carbon fork for a more precise feel during high-speed turns and hard braking. Torsional strength is also reflected in the press-fit BB90 bottom bracket, improving pedaling response further. Both hub mounts are 12mm thru-axles rather than open dropouts, adding even more torsional strength for improved handling. The all-carbon IsoSpeed fork reduces weight further, while disc-brake-specific carbon construction ensures predictable stopping power.
With all that going for it, the Domane SLR 7 Disc would be an excellent performance machine, but Trek didn't stop there. The real magic of the Domane SLR comes with the IsoSpeed decouplers found at the front and rear of the top tube. At the back, the IsoSpeed decoupler is adjustable. With the loosening of one bolt under the top tube and the damper bolt at the back of the seat tube, a slider can be moved to add or subtract vertical flex from the bike. This clever feature allows riders needing more or less frame compliance to adjust their bicycles at the roadside in only a minute. Different rider weights, different terrains and different surfaces can all be compensated for with the adjustable IsoSpeed unit. The Ride Tuned seatmast itself is designed to respond to bumps and harshness much better than a classic seat post while still reducing weight. Up front, the IsoSpeed unit at the top of the head tube takes the edge off of harsh surfaces. By isolating the steerer tube from the frame's head tube, the Domane SLR 7 Disc's fork can absorb 10% greater vibration and impacts better than the previous generation.
The Domane SLR 7 Disc has several useful features scattered about the bike to make every mile just a little better. The adjustable 3S chain keeper eliminates roadside stops and greasy fingers due to dropped chains. Vanishing fender mounts add versatility for commuters and riding in wet conditions. An aperture for a DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor (sold separately) in the left chainstay eliminates the need for unsightly zip-ties, while internal cable routing keeps the Domane SLR 7 Disc looking clean.
The Domane SLR 7 Disc is equipped with Shimano's updated Ultegra Di2 derailleurs, 50/34T Ultegra compact crankset and 11-34T Ultegra cassette for optimum shifting performance and long service life. Shifting is done with Shimano's "8070" Ultegra Di2 dual-control levers, offering improved button feedback, a more comfortable lever hood and adjustable lever reach for smaller hands. Shimano's Ultegra hydraulic disc brakes bring excellent stopping power and lever feedback in all conditions, wet or dry. Shimano Ice Tech Freeza rotors disperse heat to reduce brake pad wear during repeated hard stops. The tubeless-ready

The Revolt Advanced 2 is a new from the ground up gravel/adventure machine that caught the eye of many last year. Now there are a few upgrades...
Giant's Revolt Advanced 2 is designed with geometry unique to the model. Predictable handling was a priority with the Revolt Advanced 2, giving the rider confidence when the riding surface changes for the worse. The bottom bracket position keeps the rider's center of gravity low, allowing the rider to feel "in the bike" and between the wheels, rather than just perched on top. A more upright fit was needed for riders that are more interested in simply completing challenging rides and events rather than winning them. But just to make sure it was race-ready, the Revolt Advanced was thrown into the hardest gravel race out there: The Dirty Kanza 200. Giant Factory rider Josh Berry made the podium on one in 2018!
The frame and fork of the Revolt Advanced 2 is built with Giant's own Advanced-grade Composite carbon fiber, ensuring feather-lightness and impressive torsional strength. The Advanced-grade carbon fiber "recipe" soaks up tiring vibration, allowing a rider to cover longer distances in comfort. A tapered OverDrive head tube/steerer tube enhances the bike's handling precision, especially in fast turns and descents. The chainstays have an almost droopy look to them, allowing very wide tires to be used (up to 45mm!) when tackling terrible gravel. 12mm thru-axles not only ensure proper disc brake alignment when installing wheels, but also improve overall torsional strength for improved handling. A press-fit PowerCore bottom bracket anchors the Praxis crankset, providing flex-free power delivery with every pedal stroke. Internal cable routing keeps the bike looking clean and sleek as well as extending shifter cable life in dirty conditions. Even the front disc brake hose runs inside the fork leg. The usual bottle cage mounts are found in the main triangle, but a third bottle mount is found under the down tube for especially long and hot rides. Cool, huh? Giant's clever D-Fuse Composite carbon fiber seatpost soaks up hard impacts with up to 12mm of flex, enhancing ride quality further.
Shimano's excellent 11-speed 105 components are found throughout the drivetrain of the Revolt Advanced 2. The adjustable-reach 105 levers feature an improved hood shape and texture, keeping the rider's hands fresher over broken jeep double-track. The new long-cage 105 rear derailleur is a Shadow-style unit, enhancing shifting performance under load. It even has a 34T large cog capacity. The 105 front derailleur is a new toggle-pivot unit, reducing the effort needed to shift to the large chainring. Cable tension can even be adjusted from the derailleur, eliminating the need for in-line barrel adjusters. Praxis supplies the alloy Alba crankset with a 48/32T chainring combination, bringing incredibly low gearing to the Revolt Advanced 2. Out back, a Shimano 105 rear cassette boasts an 11-34T gearing range. Yes, that's less than a one-to-one ratio for attacking the crazy-steep climbs while loaded down with gear!
Giant's own S-X2 Disc alloy wheels are tubeless-ready and are wrapped with tubeless 700x38c CrossCut AT1 tires that dig into dirt with aggressive tread. Helping to keep speed in check is a pair of Shimano 105 hydraulic disc brakes that work brilliantly in all conditions, rain or shine (or mud). A Giant Contact saddle sits atop the aformentioned D-Fuse seatpost, while an alloy Connect stem and alloy Contact XR D-Fuse road handlebar completes the cockpit of this gravel challenger.

Trek's makes every mile easier with a bike that's already familiar to many: The Verve!
The Verve+ uses Bosch's Active Line power-assist electric motor technology, allowing the rider to cover more ground with ease. Long rides with friends on the bike path and grocery store trips are just a few of the options that might've been less appealing in the past. The handling is predictable, and the fit is upright and comfortable.
Electric-assist bicycles need to be efficient and capable, ready to do more than just help the rider up a hill. Trek started with a light Alpha Gold aluminum frame and added Bosch's 250-watt Active power-assist motor in a dedicated mount at the bottom. The Bosch Active Line motor adds power to the rider's own efforts at the crankset rather than the wheel. This isn't a motorbike-style "throttle-twist" system, but a way to smoothly add power while pedaling. The amount of power assist can be selected with the left-side control pod on the handlebar. Four power levels (Eco, Tour, Sport and Turbo) can be selected with increasing amounts of power assist. Speed, range and level of power assist is shown on the Purion's digital display, giving the rider a clear idea of range and performance. After the rider reaches 20mph, the power assist simply stops; downhills and tailwinds can sometimes be more helpful than an electric motor! With a full charge, the Verve+ can go as far as 80 miles on Eco mode in ideal conditions. With a rechargeable 400Wh battery mounted on the frame's downtube, the center of gravity of the Verve+ stays low for better handling and braking. Recharging takes 4 hours from a completely empty battery, but 80% of the battery charge can be done in only 2 hours. The battery for the Verve+ can be unlocked and brought indoors for charging. Trek didn't forget how versatile a bike needs to be for daily errands, so they added mounting points for a rear rack. A custom kickstand is included, too!
The Verve+ is more than just a bike with a motor and a battery. There's plenty more to it! Trek chose Shimano's 9-speed Alivio shifter and rear derailleur for drivetrain duty, adding fingertip operation and long service life. A Shimano 11-36T rear cassette boasts a wide gearing range for tackling steep climbs, even in Eco mode. Hydraulic Shimano disc brakes add confident stopping power, even in wet and messy conditions. The Verve+ features alloy Bontrager Connection wheels shod with Bontrager's wide H5 Hard-Case 700x45c tires, adding a smooth feel and confident grip. Bontrager's cruiser saddle will convince you they had all-day comfort in mind, too. An adjustable alloy Blendr stem and swept back handlebar are topped off with long-tail Satellite Elite grips for hand comfort. Daylight-visible lights are found front and rear, making the Verve+ a safer bike to ride, too!
A Bosch battery charger comes with the purchase of this bicycle.
