Road

This bicycle was produced by hand in Waterloo, WI, using the same molds and techniques as the Madone 6.9 SSL of the same year. The bicycle uses Trek's proprietary OCLV 110 carbon fiber material for very light weight and impressive torsional strength. An aggressive geometry provides nimble handling and lightning-fast pedaling response, especially during uphill, out-of-the-saddle efforts. Up front, a 1-1/8" Cane Creek external-cup headset holds the lightweight Bontrager Race X Lite OCLV 110 carbon fiber fork. The Madone's cables are all externally routed, allowing easy servicing in the field.
The Livestrong Madone bicycles feature real gold leaf panels on the top tube, down tube and seat tube. Lance Armstrong's signature appears across the top tube under the clearcoat. Yellow highlights and custom graphics adorn the bike and many of the components.
Shimano's 10-speed 7800 Dura Ace components are found throughout the bike, including the dual-control levers, both derailleurs, both multi-pivot brake calipers, and the 12-25T cassette. Long service life and precise operation can be expected for years to come from Shimano's best pro-level components. A Bontrager crankset with carbon fiber arms, 53/39T chainrings and matching custom graphics is an impressive centerpiece to the Livestrong Madone. Bontrager Race X Lite alloy wheels also feature custom yellow spokes and carbon fiber hubs, and are wrapped with 700x23mm Bontrager tires. A Bontrager carbon fiber seatpost, Bontrager saddle, Race XXX Lite carbon fiber stem and OCLV carbon fiber handlebar also boast custom yellow graphics.
Moots has been building titanium bicycles in the middle of Colorado gravel country since 1991. Steamboat Springs resides in Routt County where miles and miles of unpaved roads allow the crew at Moots to test performance gravel bikes every day.
The Moots Routt RSL uses 3Al/2.5V double butted titanium tubing, giving the frame incredible strength, lightness (only 1350 grams in a 54cm!) and a sublime ride quality. The satin bead-blasted finish of our in-stock Routt RSL is durable and can even be refinished by Moots at a later date. By using different frame tube diameters, internal butting and wall thicknesses, the ride quality is tunable for different frame sizes and rider weights. The titanium rear dropouts and brake mounts are 3D printed, keeping weight low in a critical spot without sacrificing strength. An oversized 44mm diameter head tube improves torsional strength, adding an extra dash of razor-sharpness in fast turns and descents. The Routt RSL's 68mm threaded bottom bracket is easy to service and all but eliminates noisy cranks. The "RSL" designation also comes with a racier geometry and a slightly more aggressive fit compared to the Routt 45. 3 bottle mounts and hidden fender mounts makes the Routt RSL a versatile machine for longer rides and rainy pre-season training. Largest tire size for this Routt RSL is 45mm with current wheelset rim widths. Up front, a Moots Flat Mount Disc Gravel Carbon fork keeps weight low while ensuring precise handling. Despite a long hub-to-crown length for tire and mud clearance, the fork weighs in at only 420 grams. A Chris King I7 headset shows that Moots sweats the small stuff when it comes to overall bike reliability and durability.
We chose SRAM's latest Force eTap AXS component group to equip our Routt RSL. SRAM's electronic wireless shifting means no wires or cables to snag or foul in rough conditions, and every shift is literally lightning-quick. Out back, a SRAM XG-1270 cassette boasts a huge 10-36T range to help make mountains into molehills. A SRAM Force AXS 43/30T carbon fiber crankset does power delivery duties. The SRAM Force eTap AXS rear derailleur features an Orbit chain retention mechanism to prevent dropped chains and roadside delays.
The Routt RSL's rolling stock consists of Chris King's tubeless carbon fiber GRD23 wheelset. Very light weight -only 1468 grams- is only part of the GRD23's repertoire. Trek knows that comfort equals power, and power equals speed. This version of the Domane SL 7 features their exclusive IsoSpeed technology at the front and rear of the frame, making it a perfect choice for those looking to extend their rides on terrible pavement. In addition to comfort, streamlining is the new approach to speed, even if the ride is over hundreds of miles. A tapered head tube adds an extra dash of precision to every high-speed turn, while an oversized T47 threaded bottom bracket ensures flex-free power delivery with every pedal stroke. An aperture in the left chainstay allows the installation of a DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor (sold separately), eliminating the need for clumsy zip-ties. Need even wider tires? The Domane SL 7 can fit rubber up to 38mm wide! If you need fenders, removeable fender mounts will allow fenders and tires up to 35mm. The Domane's characteristic upright Endurance fit is still here, allowing a wider range of riders -and rider flexibilities- to get comfortable.
Shimano's 12-speed Ultegra Di2 components are a perfect match with the Domane SL. Shimano's electronic shifting is always lightning-quick, with a single battery charge lasting over 900 miles. The Li-Ion battery itself is stored inside the frame, shielding it from dirt and bad weather. The Ultegra dual-control levers have a slim, familiar shape not too different from their mechanical versions. Even the updated lever hoods are more comfortable on multi-hour rides. The rear derailleur's Shadow-style profile makes every gear change quicker, even when under hard pedaling loads. With room for an 11-34T cassette, the Domane SL 7's ability to help with fearsome inclines is even better. A rigid 50/34T Ultegra compact crankset ensures excellent power transfer, as well as an aerodynamic profile.
The Domane SL 7 makes wide tires perform better with Bontrager's carbon fiber Aeolus Pro 3V wheelset. Schwalbe's Pro 1 700x32c tubeless-ready tires with their latest Adddix rubber compound handle pavement rough and smooth. The "3V" version of this Aeolus Pro wheelset refers to the 25mm internal width, giving any given tire over 28mm a better contact patch on pavement, gravel or hardpan. Let that soak in for a second. The disc-brake-ready version of the Emonda SLR frame weighs in at an absurd 665 grams for a 56cm frame (H1 fit). The disc brake fork is also an all-carbon unit, and weighs only 350 grams. That's actually lighter than the previous-gen caliper-brake version. How did the mad scentists at Trek in Waterloo do it?! They started with a revamped version of their in-house 700 Series OCLV carbon fiber material. The qualities of this year's 700 Series OCLV carbon is different due to changes in raw material, layup schedule and resin formulation. With the aid of in-house digital prototyping, the Emonda SLR's frame design also went through refinements from stem to stern. The hourglass-shaped top tube and stouter chainstays are the more obvious clues to the new Emonda SLR's changes, while 12mm thru-axles add torsional anchor points for better power delivery and handling. The tapered head tube and BB90 bottom bracket are still there, but they function better with the improved frame architecture and material "recipe". Aerodynamics didn't enter into the equation; only lightness and ride quality mattered when the Emonda SLR Disc was under development. Internal cable routing keeps the Emonda SLR Disc looking sleek, while an aperture in the left chainstay for a DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor (sold separately) eliminates the need for clumsy zip-ties. The ride quality was improved with the new 700 Series OCLV, giving the Emonda SLR a smoother feel over rough pavement.
Equipping the Emonda SLR with Shimano's excellent 11-speed Ultegra R8000 components was an easy choice. Known for light weight, precise functionality, and overall durability, Ultegra components just work well for racers and recreational riders alike. The dual-control STI levers require less effort to shift than the previous generation, and still boast an adjustable lever reach for smaller hands. The tucked-in Shadow-style rear derailleur can handle much larger cassettes while shifting better under hard pedaling loads. The front derailleur's toggle-pivot design also requires less effort to operate. An alloy Ultegra 50/34T crankset and 11-32T Ultegra cassette bring a wide gearing range to every challenging ride. Hydraulic disc brakes aren't just for riding in the rain; better lever feedback and improved stopping power makes for safer braking in any conditions, wet or dry.

The Domane SLR has taken an innovative approach to making every mile smoother, as well as improving performance overall. Trek starts with their proprietary OCLV 600 Series carbon fiber for the Domane SLR's frame and fork construction. This material is a "recipe" of different carbon fiber materials strategically placed to add strength where needed, and add compliance in the right places for improved rider comfort. Shaping that carbon fiber just right allows the Domane SLR to be incredibly effective at delivering power from the crankset to the rear wheel without energy-robbing flex in the frame. Called Power Transfer Construction, the overall frame shape all but eliminates torsional frame flex. Where the Domane SLR excels is in the frame's compliance over rough pavement, potholes and even cobblestones. Featuring the same IsoSpeed technology found on the first-gen Domane, the Domane SLR boasts a new twist for better ride quality for a wider range of riders: Adjustablility. This Domane SLR features a slider at the back of the seat tube that can be adjusted in the field using a simple torque wench. By moving the slider up or down, the seatmast becomes more or less flexible, soaking up rough and choppy pavement. In fact, the Domane SLR can be made more compliant than the original Domane 6-series by 14%. When moving the slider up to the top of the limit, the rear of the bike can be made stiffer, allowing better road feel during sweeping descents and turns on more civilized tarmac. The Domane SLR's fork has also gone through a revolution with front IsoSpeed. By adding a decoupler hidden at the top of the fork's steerer tube, the Domane SLR has 10% greater compliance than the previous version (which was pretty comfy to begin with), keeping the rider's hands, arms and shoulders more comfortable. The Domane SLR's BB90 bottom bracket offers a super-stiff anchor for the bike's crankset, returning every watt of power that the rider puts into it. A tapered head tube also adds precision to the bike's handling in high-speed turns and under hard braking. The Domane SLR 6 sees direct-mount brake caliber installation that all but eliminates lateral flex in the caliper, improving brake lever feel and brake pad life.
Making the Domane SLR perform better than the previous version was only the start. Trek wanted to keep all the details that helped make the 1st-gen Domane so complete, like the aperture for a DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor in the left chainstay that eliminates the need for ugly zip-ties. The Domane SLR also keeps the removable fender mounts for riders in wet climates and seasons. There's even an integrated adjustable 3S chain keeper that prevents a dropped chain on broken pavement and potholes. The same seatmast cap found on the previous Domane (and current Emonda SL and SLR) is used on the Domane SLR. This is just one example of how Trek will improve a bike without throwing away well-engineered technology from previous designs.
The Domane SLR 6 is equipped with Shimano's latest 11-speed Ultegra R8000 components for high performance, long service life and light weight. The adjustable-reach dual-control levers, front and rear derailleurs and 50/34T compact crankset are all new R8000 Ultegra components. An 11-34T Shimano cassette boasts a very wide gearing range for tackling hilly rides and adventures. Improvements from the previous generation of Ultegra components include a larger capacity for the rear derailleur, better shifting response, improved lever hood shape and a stiffer, more aero crankset.
Bontrager's tubeless-ready alloy Paradigm wheels are tubeless-ready and sport a 19.5mm width for a better tire-to-road contact patch, adding to the bike's excellent ride quality. 700x28c Bontrager R2 Hard-Case Lite tires bring confident grip to the party, making the Domane SLR 6 sure-footed on pavement both good and terrible. Shimano Ultegra direct-mount brake calipers are light and offer fantastic lever feedback for optimum control. Bontrager also supplies the padded Elite IsoZone alloy road handlebar. An accessory-ready alloy Bontrager stem makes handlebar computer and light mounting a snap (literally!). A Bontrager Montrose Comp saddle tops off the seatmast cap to complete this excellent Classics-conquering machine.

Using absurdly, stupifyingly light 700 Series OCLV carbon fiber is just a small part of why the Emonda SLR is such an incredible bike. The frame engineers at Trek knew that the right combination of different qualities of carbon fiber can make a bike perform effortlessly. Immense torsional strength is needed to help with power transfer and precise handling. Measurable frame compliance can take the edge off rough pavement and keep the rider fresher for longer, making the difference in a final sprint to the finish line. Several different qualities of carbon fiber are used to produce these seemingly conflicting performance characteristics. When Trek uses their Optimum Compaction, Low Void (or OCLV) manufacturing process, they reduce the need for excess resin in the frame, keeping overall weight low and improving quality control.
They could use garden-variety frame elements seen on bikes around the world, but Trek knew they could make a bike better. A Ride Tuned no-cut seatmast and cap still allows for plenty of saddle adjustment, but the seatmast itself adds an extra dash of smoothness to the ride quality. It also cuts more weight off the Emonda SLR's frame, especially at the top of the bike where it counts more for out-of-the-saddle sprints and uphill efforts. A press-fit BB90 bottom bracket anchors the crankset while still keeping overall weight low. Adding a tapered head tube allowed the engineers to build an oversized down tube that enhances the frame's torsional strength while still keeping weight down. Direct-mount brake caliper installation improves frame strength as well as reducing weight. An aperture in the left chainstay is meant for a Bontrager DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor, eliminating the need for clumsy zip-ties. Internal cable routing keeps the Emonda SLR looking clean and sleek, too. The more upright H2 fit of this Emonda SLR allows a wider range of riders -and rider flexibilities- to get comfortable.
Shimano's 11-speed Ultegra R8000 components are found throughout this Emonda SLR, including the dual-control levers, derailleurs, 50/34T compact crankset and direct-mount rim brakes. An 11-32T Shimano cassette offers a wide gearing range to help on fearsome inclines. Long life, precise operation and lightning-quick shifting are the hallmarks of Shimano's performance-oriented Ultegra component group. Bontrager's tubeless-ready alloy Paradigm Comp wheelset and 700x28c R3 Hard-Case Lite tires add easy acceleration and a smooth feel. Alloy Bontrager handlebars and accessory-ready stem keep the cockpit light and comfortable.

The Checkpoint SL 5 boasts plenty of great features and combines them to make a brilliant all-rounder. It can take on plenty of weeklong adventures and still commute to work on Monday. Trek's exclusive 500 Series OCLV carbon fiber makes up the Checkpoint SL 5's frame, making it very light yet incredibly strong for excellent handling and power delivery. The fit of the Checkpoint is more upright, allowing a wider range of riders -and rider flexibilities- to get comfortable easily. Trek's Checkpoint bicycles received a geometry update since last season. By lengthening the top tube slightly and moving the front wheel out ahead of the rider, the Checkpoint SL 5 is much more stable on rough and technical descents. Called "progressive geometry", this design has been used on mountain bikes for decades to help riders descend with greater confidence. A correspondingly shorter stem and short-reach handlebar produces an identical fit when compared to last year's Checkpoints. A tapered head tube/steerer tube interface adds to the Checkpoint SL 5's handling precision, while a threaded T47 bottom bracket ensures flex-free power delivery with every pedal stroke. The Checkpoint's all-carbon fork is also thru-axle equipped, adding an extra dash of handling precision.
Little details on the Checkpoint SL 5 add up to huge versatility. A 3S chain keeper that prevents dropped chains, roadside delays and greasy fingers. Asymmetrical chainstays offer better tire clearance up to 45mm if you get really adventurous. Internal cable routing for a clean look. A rear IsoSpeed decoupler to soak up fatiguing vibration when thundering over washboard surfaces and rough pavement. Downtube-mounted Carbon Armor defends against rock strikes and front tire "roost". There's plenty of frame mounts and eyelets for racks, fenders, bags and bottle cages.
Shimano's rugged gravel-ready GRX components are found throughout the Checkpoint SL 5. The GRX rear derailleur features a clutch that helps prevent dropped chains on rough and bumpy roads. The new GRX front derailleur's toggle pivot design is much more compact, easier to adjust, and improves clearance for wider tires at the cage's trailing edge. A Shimano GRX crankset features 46/30T chainrings and is matched with an 11-speed 11-34T Shimano HG700 cassette, bringing a very wide gearing range to help tackle challenging terrain. The GRX dual-control levers have a wider range of adjustment for smaller hands, as well as improved lever hood texture. Less effort is needed for each shift, too. The flat-mount Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes found on the Checkpoint SL 5 help regulate speed with excellent lever feedback and sheer stopping power, rain or shine. Tubeless-ready alloy Bontrager Paradigm SL wheels are shod with Bontrager's 700x40c tubeless-ready GR1 Team Issue semi-treaded tires, giving the Checkpoint SL 5 excellent grip on road, gravel and hardpan surfaces alike.

The Devote Advanced 2 isn't a repurposed cyclocross bike with wide gearing and wider tires. It's all about speed and smoothness in rough conditions for hours on end.
Liv's new Devote Advanced 2 is designed with geometry unique to the line. Stability came first with the Devote Advanced 2, giving the rider confidence when the riding surface changes for the worse, frequently with no warning. The low bottom bracket keeps the rider's center of gravity low, allowing the rider to feel "in the bike" and between the wheels, rather than just perched on top. A more upright fit was needed for riders that are more interested in simply completing challenging rides and events rather than winning them.
The frame and fork of the Devote Advanced 2 is built with Giant's Advanced-grade Composite carbon fiber, ensuring feather-lightness and impressive torsional strength. The Advanced-grade carbon fiber "recipe" soaks up fatiguing vibration, allowing a rider to cover longer distances in comfort. A tapered OverDrive head tube/steerer tube enhances the bike's handling precision, especially in fast turns and descents. The chainstays have an almost droopy look to them, allowing very wide tires to be used (up to 45mm!) when tackling terrible gravel. The Devote Advanced 2 can also take 650B wheels if that's your preference (wheelset and tires sold separately). 12mm thru-axles not only ensure proper disc brake alignment, but also improve overall torsional strength for improved handling. A press-fit PowerCore bottom bracket anchors the crankset, providing flex-free power delivery with every pedal stroke. Internal cable routing keeps the bike looking clean and sleek as well as extending shifter cable life in dirty conditions. The usual bottle cage mounts are found in the main triangle, but a third bottle mount is found under the down tube for especially long and hot rides. Cool, huh? Giant's clever D-Fuse Composite carbon fiber seatpost soaks up hard impacts with up to 12mm of flex, enhancing ride quality further.
Shimano's excellent 11-speed GRX components are found throughout the drivetrain of the Devote Advanced 2. The adjustable-reach GRX levers feature an improved hood shape and texture, keeping the rider's hands fresher over broken jeep double-track. The new long-cage GRX rear derailleur is a Shadow-style unit, enhancing shifting performance under load. It even has a 34T large cog capacity. The GRX front derailleur is a new toggle-pivot unit, reducing the effort needed to shift to the large chainring. Cable tension can even be adjusted from the derailleur, eliminating the need for in-line barrel adjusters. Praxis supplies the alloy Alba 2D crankset with a 48/32T chainring combination, bringing incredibly low gearing to the Revolt Advanced 2. Out back, a Shimano 105 rear cassette boasts an 11-34T gearing range. Yes, that's less than a one-to-one ratio for the crazy-steep climbs while loaded down with gear!
Giant's own P-X2 Disc alloy wheels are tubeless-ready and are wrapped with tubeless 700x40c CrossCut AT 1 tires that dig into dirt with aggressive tread. Helping to keep speed in check is a pair of GRX hydraulic disc brakes. An Approach saddle sits atop the aformentioned D-Fuse seatpost, while an alloy Contact stem and alloy Contact XR D-Fuse road handlebar completes the cockpit of this expedition-ready bicycle.


When our customers have asked for a "classic steel touring bike", and wanted something American-made, the choices were somewhat limited. Now Co-Motion has added an excellent new model with plenty of value.
The Descheutes brings stable handling and rugged construction for rides across town or across the country. Double-butted cro-moly steel tubing gives the Deschutes a light, springy feel over rough and choppy pavement. The long wheelbase and relaxed frame geometry adds a stable handling quality, especially when tackling broken pavement, gravel trails and fire roads. The Deschutes boasts rack mounts, fender mounts and three (yes, three) bottle mounts for expedition-level touring. If you're into old-school full-length frame pumps, there's a pump peg at the back of the head tube. There's even a kickstand mounting plate doubling as a seat stay bridge. The cro-moly unicrown fork also features eyelets for fenders and front low-rider racks, improving carrying capacity and weight distribution when front panniers are used. An upright fit allows a wider range of riders -and rider flexibilities- to get comfortable on multi-day trips. Five stock sizes give plenty of riders an excellent overall fit.
The drivetrain of the Deschutes brings a massive gearing range to the table, pairing an FSA Omega 46/30T crankset and an 11-40T cassette for loaded touring. Yes, that's a very low 30T chainring and 40T cassette low gear for those 15+% grades and fully loaded panniers. TRP Spyre cable-operated disc brakes with 160mm rotors boast plenty of stopping power, even in wet and rainy conditions. Loaded touring requires stong wheels, and the Deschutes' handbuilt alloy Alex ATD 490 rims are more than up to the task. 700x32c Continental Ultrasport tires add low rolling resistance and a comfortable ride, but even wider rubber can be added for rough gravel and jeep double-track roads. An FSA Gossamer stem, Omega Compact handlebar, 31.6 alloy seatpost and Selle Italia XR Flow saddle completes the cockpit of this outstanding handcrafted beauty.

Giant has been refining their race-ready TCR series of bicycles for years, but somehow they've kept the prices pretty chill. The TCR Advanced 2 Disc is a perfect example: The Advanced-Grade carbon fiber Composite frame shows off new flowing lines that help cheat the wind, along with absurdly light weight. Those truncated shapes found at the head tube, down tube and fork legs help the TCR Advanced 2 Disc slice through the air with less effort. Shimano recently redesigned their venerable 11-speed 105 component group. Called R7000, the new 105 components are a direct descendant of Shimano's pro-level Dura-Ace component group. The Shadow-style rear derailleur shifts even smoother and boasts a wider gearing capacity, the toggle-pivot front derailleur requires less effort to operate, and the new levers adjust to fit smaller hands better. A Shimano RS510 52/36T alloy crankset and 11-30T Shimano 105 cassette makes the TCR Advanced 2 Disc an even better choice for tackling otherwise fearsome hills and inclines. Tubeless alloy PR-2 wheels and Giant Gavia Course 1 tubeless tires take grip and smooth ride quality to another level. Helping to reign in speed is the job of Shimano's (you guess it) 105 hydraulic brake calipers. A Giant Approach road saddle, Composite carbon fiber Variant seatpost, alloy Contact stem and alloy Contact road handlebar complete this race-worthy machine.

The Checkpoint ALR 5 combines rugged construction, a responsive feel, versatile design and a new geometry for riders looking to discover (or rediscover) adventure cycling. The frameset of the Checkpoint ALR for 2022 is slightly different with a slightly longer top tube and correspondingly shorter stem and handlebar reach.
