2011 Trek Remedy 7
Remedy. A solution. When your bike just isn’t giving you the control you need on technical terrain -especially a descent- this is what you reach for. Trek’s new Remedy 7 shares the same Alpha Red hydroformed aluminum frame and 150mm of rear travel as the Remedy 8, and has the ABP rear pivot for better control on broken downhill trails under braking. Even the upper EVO suspension link is magnesium. The fork -plugged into an E2 tapered head tube- is Fox’s Float RL, also with 150mm of travel with a 15mm axle for even better control. Top Fuel 9.8 WSD
Trek’s Top Fuel 9.8 full-suspension mountain bike is what so many pro-level racers wish they could ride. A made-in-Wisconsin OCLV carbon fiber mainframe and carbon seatstay is supremely light, durable and stiff. The net-molded tapered head tube, and BB90 bottom bracket eliminates heavy bearing hardware, while adding rigidity to an already stiff frame. What was it like at the dawn of mountain biking? Did Gary Fisher and his friends really fly down the fire roads of Mount Tamalpais on old balloon tire bikes? Did they use one-speeds with coaster brakes? Now you can return to that era, but without all that tedious mucking about with coaster brakes with the Sawyer.
