The Trek Madone 5.9 shares the same frame and fork as the Madone 5.2, but the upgrades are quite impressive. Shimano’s game-changing electronic Di2 shifting trickles down to the Ultegra component collection, and the Madone 5.9 is the first to offer it. Flawless shifting with minimal effort is found with every shift, no matter how tired you are. The front derailleur trims itself for you, and will shift perfectly, even withstanding the most powerful out-of-the-saddle hill-stomper’s efforts on the bike’s 50/34T Ultegra crankset. The 500 Series OCLV frame and Bontrager Race X Lite fork feature a BB90 bottom bracket, tapered steerer tube, DuoTrap computer aperture, internal Di2 cable routing and a no-cut seatmast for simple saddle adjustments. The Ultegra wheelset is also featured on the bike, allowing tubeless tires to be used. Bontrager Race X Lite stem and bars are found up front, while an Affinity Race Lite saddle completes the package. A free bike fit is offered with this bicycle, not including component substitutions or upgrades.
