The Defy 1 is the result of letting Giant’s engineers and designers go a little farther that the usual cookie-cutter bike. Giant’s Aluxx Aluminum alloy has been tuned to within an inch of its life to produce a light & lively frame for those new to the idea of performance cycling. The longer wheelbase and upright fit make the “folded over” feeling on a nervous road bike a thing of the past. The carbon fiber fork connects to the frame via Giant’s tapered OverDrive steerer for sure-footed tracking through corners. Shimano’s 10-speed 105 components feature smooth-shifting derailleurs with a 12-28T cassette, and a 34/50T Shimano compact crankset for the toughest hills. The summer century rides aren’t that far away, and the Deft 1 is ready for them.
