2013 Trek 4700 Disc

Was $1149, now $849

The light and nimble feel of an aluminum frame and 26” wheels hasn’t been forgotten in this new age of 29’ers. The Trek 4700 keeps that feeling alive with a nimble feel that rewards the technically adept, or anyone looking for a fast mountain bike with value. Trek’s own Alpha gold aluminum frame has been hydroformed and butted for an amazing strength-to-weight ratio, while the SR-Suntour suspension fork boasts an 80mm travel with a handlebar-mounted lockout lever. Cool, huh? Shimano’s latest 10-speed mountain components are found throughout the drivetrain, including the RapidFire-style Deore shifters, Deore front derailleur and SLX rear derailleur. A Shimano 42/32/24T crankset and 11-36T rear cassette provide a massive gearing range for roller-coaster singletrack. The 4700 is also armed with Shimano M395 hydraulic disc brakes for confident speed control. Bontrager’s 26” alloy AT-850 wheels are shod with XR2 tires for tenacious grip on gravel-strewn trails. The 4700 has an all-Bontrager cockpit as well, with a Low Riser handlebar, Race Lite stem, SSR alloy seatpost and an Evoke 1 saddle.
